Overall, this is an excellent reliable coffee/espresso combo maker. It has been with me through 10+ moves over the past 16 years and if it weren't for the power switch I'd hope to keep it for another 16. But the machine has been a champ.
About years later it finally is having trouble with it's power switch. The espresso this machine makes is ok. I bought this maker around 1993.
could be better. Your money will be well spent. I'm looking into a new one in the hopes that I can take advantage of some of the industries innovations.
It has worked like a champ and got me through college, brewing one to two pots a day.
This was a gift for a newly wed couple it was shipped in a timely mannor and they are very happy with the caffe bistro. Thanks,Susan Boyd
I make about 30 pots of coffee per week. Each one has lasted about 4-5 years. I hope they never stop making this machine, I love it. This is my 3rd or 4th Krups coffee/espresso/cappuccino machine. I received the first one as a gift and every time the machine stopped working correctly, I've replaced it with the identical machine.
After 10 years, it died out last week.I'm on Amazon today not surprised at all to see the exact product still on the market. I received the Krups Caffe Bistro coffee/espresso maker 10 years ago as a gift. Here's to another 10 years. I'm buying another one today. It never malfunctioned. It made wonderful frothy latte, strong espresso, and great coffee.
Be careful with the Espresso Filter Holder, I broke the handle off mine the first day I had it. Ok, was very skeptical at first (I bought it from a guy at a garage sale that claimed he got it as a house warming gift and never used the espresso side). lol) Over all A+++ (I was probably man handling it. This machine does everything it says it does. One note, when your heating milk shut the espresso down half way thru the process, you'll get nice foam results because you'll have plenty of steam.
